A network for Cameroonian scholars — built to last beyond the scholarship
BWS RC Cameroon brings together current and former Baden-Wurttemberg-STIPENDIUM scholarship holders connected to Cameroon: scholars, professionals, researchers, entrepreneurs and leaders across disciplines and generations.
Who we are
What we do
We create meaningful connections, promote mentorship, support professional development, and encourage members to use their knowledge and experience to create positive impact in Cameroon and beyond.
The chapter runs a steady rhythm through the year: monthly online get-togethers on educational, scientific and cultural themes; networking, cooking and planning evenings; discussion events such as Picture a Scientist on gender equality in science; a members' travel and network map; and a national conference each year with a photo competition and exhibition.

Our journey
From a handful of scholars to a recognised chapter
Founded in 2017, officially recognised in 2019, and named Best Regional Chapter Coordination in 2022.
2017
The chapter is founded
A small group of Cameroonian scholarship holders start meeting to stay connected after their exchange in Baden-Wurttemberg.
2019
Officially recognised
BWS RC Cameroon becomes an official Regional Chapter within the Baden-Wurttemberg-STIPENDIUM network.
2020
Named and active
The chapter settles into a monthly rhythm of online meetings and grows past 20 members on the BWS-World portal.
2022
1st National Conference — Tubingen · Best RC Coordination
“Bridging the Gap: Network Implementation, Evaluation & Optimisation.” The first annual conference and photo competition. The chapter is recognised as Best Regional Chapter Coordination.
2023
2nd National Conference — Cote d'Ivoire
The conference travels to West Africa (Abidjan, 10–11 August), widening the network beyond Germany.
2024
3rd National Conference — Karlsruhe / KIT
“Harnessing German Education for Global Success.” Keynote by Marcelline Ongongono; talk by Dr. Klaus Rümmele (KIT). Exhibition: “Threads of Tradition.”

About the Baden-Wurttemberg-STIPENDIUM
The Baden-Wurttemberg-STIPENDIUM supports international exchange and connects talented students, professionals and alumni across the world. Through its international network, scholarship holders build academic, professional and intercultural connections that continue well beyond the scholarship itself.
How the network is organised
What is a Regional Chapter?
Regional Chapters bring together members of the Baden-Wurttemberg-STIPENDIUM network in specific countries or regions. They create opportunities for alumni and scholarship holders to connect, exchange experiences, organise activities and strengthen the international BWS community. There are around 25 Regional Chapters worldwide.
Coordination
Who runs the chapter
The chapter is run by a small volunteer coordination team, elected by and drawn from the membership, with support from active members who lead conferences, the photo competition, mentorship and communications.
